Sin embargo, en el cultivo del olivo, esta planta desempe\u00f1a un papel mucho m\u00e1s interesante de lo que se podr\u00eda pensar. Esta planta atrae a depredadores naturales de la mosca de la aceituna <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bactrocera_oleae\">( <em>Bactrocera oleae<\/em> )<\/a> , una de las plagas m\u00e1s perjudiciales para los campos de olivos. Adem\u00e1s, ayuda a <strong>fijar el suelo y evitar la erosi\u00f3n<\/strong> , un problema com\u00fan en zonas de agricultura intensiva. Sin embargo, hoy en d\u00eda se reconoce su valor y cada vez son m\u00e1s los olivicultores que optan por conservarla en los m\u00e1rgenes de los campos. Esta pr\u00e1ctica encaja con una agricultura m\u00e1s sostenible y respetuosa con el medio ambiente.  <\/p>\n\n<p>La olivarda, lejos de ser una enemiga, es una gran aliada para la producci\u00f3n de aceite de oliva virgen extra de calidad.
